Derek McLeish, MicroProse's senior vice president of marketing, commented, "Anyone who saw MechWarrior 3 at E3 will attest that it would be competitive in the market. However, we believe using Zipper's technology and game design will now allow us to exceed the expectations of MechWarrior fans and blow the competition away. MechWarrior 3 will be more than worth the wait." Key FASA Interactive staff working on MechWarrior 3 have been reassigned to other projects in development including Shadowrun: Assassin, BattleTech, MechWarrior 4 and the soon to be released MechCommander.
