Jlallen, Its just crazy to be playing by the Marquis of Queensbury rules while the other guy is kicking, gouging, biting, etc... Not really. The other guy is kicking, gouging, biting, etc. because he can't hope to win by playing by the rules.
We play by the rules because we can. Despite all of the coverage, the War on Terrorism has never been a full-scale war. We've been pulling our punches because, as messy as this war is already, we could have always made it much, much worse.
This is why I'm against waterboarding in this context, because I don't believe it was necessary, and I for one don't like blurring the line between torture and "aggressive interrogation."

P.S. - I do agree, though, that the Senate "report" was hyperpartisan and only meant to rile up the leftist core of the Democratic Party. It also reveals the twisted priorities of the Obama administration and how he's more concerned about apologizing for America than keeping America safe from assholes who would blow up skyscrapers and shoot up an entire school full of children in the name of Allah. |
