With the loss of Congress to the Republicans, Feinstein is due to cede her role to her successor.
But her last act as she stepped down was to distance her role in the Enhanced Interrogation Program and seemingly rewrite her role in history with a whopping $40 MILLION report…that is right $40,000,000…count the zeros. How can a report cost that much money?
She now pretends she knew next to nothing about the program and also alleges President Bush was also misled…Huh?
First, Feinstein was quoted in the New York Times in May 2002, saying: “We have to do some things that historically we have not wanted to do to protect ourselves.”
Second, did she miss where the President authorized it?
No one knows where her allegation of President Bush being misled came from, President Bush certainly has no idea of it. He has publicly announced his support for the CIA and George Tenet, and labelled them as heroes that saved lives. They made a difference.
Also before accusing and condemning the CIA, did she interview any of the CIA principals for the report? NO, not a single person. Have any of these brave people, who sacrificed so much for our safety, been given any rights before she condemned them? No. They have not been given any opportunity to answer their accusers and defend themselves. In Feinstein’s report, they are guilty until proven innocent.
THAT IS COMPLETELY unAMERICAN MS. FEINSTEIN.
These heroes are now terrorist targets and our allies around the world are on heightened alert for a terrorist strike because Feinstein is determined to distance her involvement from a program in which she had oversight.
The irony is, she has afforded more legal and due process to those that were responsible for murdering innocent Americans in 9/11, than the people that bravely fought against them and for the safety of the American people.
All around the world, terrorist are using the Feinstein report as their rallying cry to build support against the USA.
Thanks for timing the release of this stupid report during the holiday season. Happy holidays to you Feinstein.
I am so glad the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence oversight is in better hands.
