WASHINGTON (AP) - Hoping to prevent up to 60,000 illnesses a year, the government is forcing every seafood processor to follow a strict new safety program that aims to prevent bad fish from reaching Americans. The new rules will force plants, starting Thursday, to prove they took steps to prevent seafood contamination, providing a continual record of safety. Go NEOG.
