Does anybody here have any experiences with the Kitchenaid stand mixer attachments? I recently got my wife a Kitchenaid stand mixer. She has always wanted one, and I noticed her checking them out again while at Target recently. Amazon's 12 Days of Deals included the 600 Professional model (bowl-lift stand mixer, not the tilt-head variety), with 6-quart bowl and 575-Watt motor.

There are many attachments available but they are quite expensive including flour mill, ice cream maker, various slicer / grinder attachments, and various pasta attachments (pasta press, pasta roller, ravioli maker, etc.). I would assume that the first attachment to get is either a Beater Blade or Flex Edge Beater. Any insights on these or other attachments for Kitchenaid stand mixers?
