Since we went over the Brown thing here- I think it's only fair to mention the terrible killings of two innocent policemen. Perhaps someone else posted about this- but I think it's only fair to point out these two (non-white) officers were doing nothing illegal, or hostile, but were merely sitting in their car when they were assassinated. There is no debate about what happened to them. IMO this incident brings up many troubling aspects of American culture right now- our inability to deal with the mentally ill; our complete and total inability to control weapons in a society awash in them; the inability of some to protest without using violence or stoking violent actions, and the troubling hardening of feelings on both sides of the racial divide.
