There is another point here which needs to be clearly made (the two dead cops in NYC are exhibit A): If an even marginally skilled nutcase has a gun and is intent on mayhem, you having a gun for protection (as the NRA loves to claim) isn't going to help you. You'll be dead before you know there is a problem.
