To be fair, you do make a very valid point. These are just message boards and for all we know you are a secret billionaire. You don't lay all your cards on the table and we have no idea how successful you are or how you process information.
I wouldn't be surprised, for example, if you go through every negative with a fine-toothed comb but don't want to express it in public either for strategic reasons, you don't feel like sharing it, or that's not the purpose. Sometimes we use boards to vent, to laugh, to cry, to show joy -- it's rarely to never a complete picture of our thoughts. I can't tell you how many times, for example, I'll be in a stock with a group of very happy-seeming posters then we get on a conference call chat and you hear anger, screaming, and rage about the FDA or an earnings report or the latest app a tech company designed or whatever. Then there is vice versa -- so often people will rage on the boards and then on the phone and/or off the boards they say they were just ranting but are still very excited about the future and buying.
The boards are mostly just social media IMO with sprinkles of some real info slipped in at times to make it all worth it. On that note, I've found most people I meet in person almost nothing like they seem on the boards. Same when I talk to them on the phone.
So, yeah, we probably misjudged you and others a lot but your willingness to go against the grain once in a while I think may reveal your true, less-biased-as-you-might-seem self. Hell, you were willing to play my contest so you can't be all that bad. ;)
Merry Xmas to you! |
