-- Somehting a little more relevant:
1. CNTO is going to be hit hard today. Earnings are projected to be $.42 in '98. -- VS - $1.40 or so for VVUS.

2. CNTO closed at 37 7/8 yesterday.

3. CNTO's ytd high is 53.

4. With this bad news, does anyone think that CNTO will really come down to the $10 level - where VVUS is?

5. My point, is that the reaction to VVUS's shortfall has been overdone. Stock price will rebound with a vengeance.

<< Genesis Merchant Group Securities analyst Deepa Pakianathan, Ph.D., downgraded her recommendation on Centocor, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNTO - news) to hold from strong buy and anticipates lowering her 1998 estimates significantly.

Pakianathan cited several factors that led to the downgrade, including: uncertainty surrounding the company's ability to sign a marketing partner for Avakine, potential lower than expected revenue growth for ReoPro and increased expenses.

Based on an early analysis ''we estimate earnings of $0.02 per share for the fourth quarter 1997 and $0.38 to $0.42 per share for 1998,'' Pakianathan said. >>
