Taken from Gulf Canada web site

AUSTRALIA

The acquisition of Clyde Petroleum plc has introduced Gulf to the Australian oil and gas industry.
Gulf acquired a 4.75 per cent working interest in the prolific Cooper Basin Area, a group of oil & gas fields that are a major gas supplier to South Australia and New South Wales. The key exploration areas include Carnarvon (5 blocks, 15-30% WI) and Ashmore-Cartier (4 blocks,
25-40% WI)97), with additional exploration licenses in the Gippsland and Otway Basins.

Gulf is a 25 per cent participant in the wildcat exploration discovery by Cultus Timor Sea Inc., the operator of the Tenacious-1 ST1 well, offshore northwest Australia (Ashmore-Cartier). Cultus Timor Sea announced in July:

AC/P 17 block (25%)
8 miles from Jabiru
7.7 MB/D test (WOW)
4.5 MBOE/D established production

INDX contols 65% of the AC/P19 block which borders AC/P 17 immediatly north. (see INDX map) Dr Bennett claims the INDX block has been seriously upgraded because of the above discovery and the block has some "king size" targets. Apparantly INDX has received numerous joint venture offers from majors. I beleive this with a big discovery like Tenacious next door.
