Michael:

Standard fire assays have been used on Franklin Lake material by Ledoux - look at the April 3, 1997 news release - a .065 Au ozs. per ton was obtained. The material had not been put through the Johnson/Lett process, however. If unprepared material would have easily yielded to standard fire assay in the past, then Naxos would never have locked up Franklin Lake - some major would have obtained it.

Ledoux has used standard fire assay on the head ore (unprepared material) in several cases. Other labs have confirmed over and again the same value range - many of the old press releases in the early years had fire assays side by side with other methodologies that Naxos was using at the time. The ASE indicated that Naxos would have to show standard fire assay along with other methodologies.

COC and other labs are very important to confirmation of the Johnson/Lett process.

Does this clarify some matters?

Regards,

Kim W.
