The problem is that YOU are past that stage but most intelligent people are not. We understand that science is not about consensus, it is about the scientific method. And you're wanting to spend OUR money to "fix" the problem we don't agree exists.

That's not how this works. At least it isn't how it should work. The science may take another 20 or 30 years to shake out so that there is, rather than a consensus of scientists that a problem exists, a consensus of taxpayers that we want our money spent to address it.

Now, it may be possible to abandon all democratic processes by lying, cheating, manipulating, and ultimately just stealing our kids' money -- or by convincing them with false statistics. But that's hardly a sensible approach to the problem. And if you continue to use the "Obamacare" tactics you will fail, just as surely as Obamacare has failed, which it is has.

We may or may not have a developing problem, but we don't have a problem today. It would be appropriate to commit money to research at this point, but it is far too soon to be committing money to addressing a problem that may not exist, may not pose any substantial future risk, or may just take care of itself as new technologies come along to alleviate the problem in organic fashion.
