They are lazy John. Intellectually comatose.Their mental capacity and IQ is not formed enough or evolved enough to drag them out of the 9th century where they are comfortable. For them it is much easier to destroy something than build something. That is their best solution. There are smart people in islam also but their oppressive cult stifles them to the point that ALL of them capitulate which in turn limits their abilities and growth. This is replaced by absolute hatred which we can all see is raging across the earth with a demonic resonance. If you thrust them into a sophisticated culture vs when they were comfortable running camel trails and cooking with camel $hit then they are bound to look upon the western progress as evil. Not awe.

I was listening to the middle east advisers for Stratfor this morning. They are not a bit surprised at this attack. In fact Stratfor is expecting much worse attacks world wide. Stratfor is of the opinion that the adeptness and skill of the the attacks will be enhanced. These current attacks displayed tradecraft. Very successful and well executed. The bad guys didn't blow themselves up in a fit of allah akbar. They didn't take casualties. They were very well trained, armed. They had a very well understood escape route. Bound and determined to survive and strike another day. Soft targets are the low hanging fruit. Our Achilles heel. We cannot protect them all. Impossible. Personal freedoms would have to be restricted. This plays straight into the hands of the moslimes. The moslime populations, unsettled in the West refuse to accept western values and completely reject our culture. In turn they are disaffected and turn to violence. Their mantra is that we are the ones that must assimilate. Don't forget the 1000 cars that they burned over the Christmas season in Paris. France in my opinion is doomed.
