No Gene, you are the one who doesn't get it. What do you mean no one cares? Conservatives like me care much more than you would ever believe. The socialist progressive liberals are the ones who do not care. They need a dependant class to push forward their agenda. Until you figure that out you will remain where and what you are.
Many on this board also care. Just look at the reps of my post. A lot of people here care. What I am saying is just what many here recognize to be the truth. You need to come out of the darkness into the light. You need to use that brain in your head and begin to think for yourself.
Google Dr. Ben Carson and Thomas Sowell and read some truth from African Americans who have thrown off the shackles and found freedom and liberty. These are men of wisdom and understanding who may help you find the light of reason and truth. You do not have to remain in the bondage others have created for you.
Be a free man instead of a puppet. Stop listening to only one side of the discussion. Have the courage to break out of the mold you have been kept in all your life. Stand up Gene!! You can do it!!
As long as you focus on the door being closed you will never pass through it. Others have told you the door is closed and you believe it. It is their desire to keep anyone from going through that door so they tell you it is closed. Dr. Ben Carson came from abject poverty to become one of the greatest surgeons in the world because he refused to believe it. Read his biography and be inspired.
When those come to you with the message that you are a victim and the door is closed and you can't get up because you are being kept down through no fault of your own, refuse to listen. You are an American. You can enjoy the liberty and opportunity of America to whatever degree you determine. That determination is your own.
Don't excuse yourself by saying that I do not understand and never will. True, I have never walked in your shoes. There is a degree of truth that I may never fully understand. But I have read the writings of some who know full well what you talk about and feel. They understand completely. But they have not allowed the nay sayers to keep them from the prize. They are a condemnation of all who say the door is closed and you can't make it. The door is not closed to anyone who aspires to take advantage of the opportunity of this great country. They are proof the nay sayers are wrong. They, and many others, are proof that you are wrong.
Young people especially need to be told the door is open if you will it to be so. They need heros like Thomas Sowell and Ben Carson held up before them as examples of what can be accomplished if you only believe and strive for it.
Instead they are told they cannot make it and the prize is not for them. That is a lie. It is a lie that kills their dreams and determination and keeps them from reaching their full potential.
Pssst, some of us care a lot.
