after my first trip to china i thought on the plane ride home, and i said so, in the so called world economy so highly touted still at that time, there would be a world average set of wages (more or less) (a very mean wage reversion) with the chinese and ASEAN/BRICS, as they evolved, demanding more, and workers in the west, getting less.

and so Voila! here we are right now, doing just that.

there's no competition for most efficient output leading to most rewarded makers, no real quality vs. quantity.

its junk information generating junk pennies per views (kind of like this web site), copy cat low ball production of tv-s and cell phones, crappy lyrics and sing alongs, and a few pockets of real engineering and long life product making here and there. a great fantasy of throw away junk and fake over valued data humans just barely retain and the algo's work overtime to make something of it that in practical terms is below zero in meaningfulness. and for the so called "doing well" some glossy balloons twisted into party shapes, at auction 58 million dollars, or some handbags with fashionable names sewed/stamped/glued to the side filled up with the same junky crap in every hand bag everywhere.

disintermediation once upon a time was a sign of great progress, advancing efficiency, and just in time freshness. now its just centralized control and hysterical mediocrity. and an occasional fighter plane for sale at 35 billion each.
