These claims are absurd, and based on intentional deception. The biggest problem is that they are ignoring the most accurate data sets, which come from satellites and show that 2014 was nowhere near as warm as several other years. The amount of sea ice on Earth has been persistently above normal, and Antarctic sea ice area has been at record highs Antarctica Global Index of /cryosphere/iphone/images This indicates cold temperatures at high latitudes, where NASA and NOAA have little or no coverage. This excess sea ice reflects sunlight back into space, and cools the planet. But it gets worse. Autumn Northern Hemisphere snow extent was at a record high. This indicates cold air at low latitudes, and further reflects sunlight back into space, providing more cooling feedback. Rutgers University Climate Lab :: Global Snow Lab Winter snow cover was also well above average, indicating cold air at low latitudes and additional cooling of the planet. NASA has massively and repeatedly altered their own published data, to cool the past and warm the present. The animation below show their published 1981 surface temperatures in black, and subsequent 1999 and 2014 versions in red. This is consistent with an increase in propaganda, but not consistent with an increase in temperature.
