Paolo tapped to lead R.I. tech fund

David R. Paolo, president and chief executive officer of GoGo Cast Inc., has been appointed managing director of a newly formed $10-million Rhode Island technology fund set up by Brickhouse Holdings, a management and holding company.

Paolo will remain president and CEO of GoGo Cast, a digital-advertising company based in Cranston.

Brickhouse Holdings plans to provide technology start-up businesses with early stage seed financing as well as financial management, technology guidance and facility resources. The goal is a collaboration of new technology companies that can share resources including financial management, technology executives, engineers and facility utilization.

Paul Hummel co-founder and equity partner of Brickhouse Holdings, said that Paolo's history of building successful businesses "made the choice for the appointment of our managing director simple."

Brickhouse Holdings is expected to begin its selection process in the third quarter and will begin funding qualified companies in early 2012.
