British Royal Mint Sells of Out First Ever '£100 For £100' Commemorative Silver Coin

According to the British Royal Mint, consumers not only love silver but they also love Elizabeth tower and the iconic Big Ben. The Royal Mint announced Monday that they have sold out its first ever £100 for £100 commemorative coin, which features London’s landmark clock. The mint created only 50,000 coins and they were quickly snapped up within a few days. “We thought that this British icon was a fitting choice for the nation’s first £100 for £100 coin, and that the New Year would be a fitting time to reveal it. We are pleased to confirm that we have now sold out of this coin, and have been thrilled with the fantastic feedback and unprecedented interest from our customers and the UK general public,” says Shane Bissett, director of commemorative coin and medals at the Royal Mint.
