Addition of Former Bay Networks Executive Demonstrates Brocade's Increasing Preparation for Rapid Growth in 1998
Fibre Channel industry leader Brocade Communications Systems Inc., today announced the appointed of Peter Tarrant to the position of Vice President of Business Development. Tarrant officially joined the company Monday, Dec. 15 and reports directly to Bruce Bergman, Brocade's president and CEO.
Terrant, a 15-year industry veteran, has a strong track record of career accomplishments. He brings to Brocade invaluable experience in driving business development activities within an entire organization. At Brocade, he will lead the company's overall strategic planning process, working directly with he company's various departments, including Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Technology, as well as with OEM customers and integrator/VAR channels.

Tarrant joins Brocade Bay Networks where he most recently held the position of Vice President of Business Development. During his eight years with SynOptics/Bay Networks, he held various positions, including Product Manager, Group Product Manager for LAN connectivity, Director of Product Management of all hub and Ethernet switches, and Vice President of Product Management for hub and switch products.
Prior to Bay Networks, Tarrant spent over six years at BICC Data Networks (which has since been acquired by 3COM). While at BICC, he held numerous engineering positions ranging from development to strategic planning and standards work. Tarrant holds a BSc. in Electronic Engineering from Southampton University in England.
