I got that, but you didn't answer the question (and neither did the article, for that matter).

What is it about the Volt that makes it not as appealing as the Leaf? It really doesn't make any sense to me. The Volt is a fine car, IMO. It's a bit pricey, but then again, the Leaf isn't that much cheaper.

My impression it was all about the price.......as well as small things......like sitting two adults in the back seat uncomfortably; touch screens instead of buttons etc. Haven't driven either so can't really comment.
