DiamondH. CDMA is not Qualcomm - it is a general engineering term. However Qualcomm uses it for its proprietary CDMAOne standard which is officially known as IS-95. Qualcomm has essentially been the only company widely using CDMA at all so that is why we mistakenly associate it exclusively with CDMA. There are others - there is an SS-CDMA and so on... So Siemens combines CDMAOne with TDMA. Ericsson is trying to create its own version of CDMA which does not rely on CDMAOne and may not be backward compatible with it. Hope this helps.
