EaseUS Todo Backup Recovery with WinPE ... Gottfried: You are experiencing something I am not, so I have no idea what may be causing your issue. I just upgraded my old 32-bit secondary desktop running Windows 8.1 from EaseUS Todo Backup Home 6.5 to EaseUS Todo Backup Free 8.0. The newly created WinPE Recovery CD (not created with a 3rd party burner) works as flawlessly in the older secondary DPE as the WinPE Recovery CD works in my primary Win7 system. I should note that what EaseUS now calls 'pre-OS' has always been enabled in the EaseUS Todo BU systems I've used since Win7 was released. I wouldn't want to run without it, because I want to be able to get into a recovery mode before the Windows OS loads when necessary without hunting for a rescue CD, or any other CD. You really don't have to chose between the Windows OS mode and (Linux or) WinPE mode. The default is Windows and after 30 seconds if you didn't hit the enter key that's what it boots to. A question for you: If 'pre-OS' is enabled on your system and you've created an EasUS WinPE boot disk (making it the default alternate mode of starting) and you don't put the recovery CD in the drive, but select WinPE instead of the default Win8.1 OS, do you boot into Todo BU or do you receive an error?
