Uh, Google Fiber exists because one of the biggest companies in the world has gotten fed up with the slow speeds and spotty availability of world class broadband. But even they can cover only a handful of cities. FiOS has been almost static for years. Dunno about AT&T.

Your examples just illustrate my point. Especially if you note that when Google Fiber wires a new area, the existing companies suddenly are able to offer faster service and/or lower prices. They claim they can offer faster service but there is no demand. Given the Google Fiber effect, that is an obvious lie.
