I am a fiscal conservative and I did not want TARP at the time. It was being sold as essential but like pretty much everyone else, I didn't know whether it was a solution or a political boondoggle.

It worked out and it did save the economy. Had we had a competent president following Bush, the economic collapse would have been over quickly and things would have returned to normal quickly.
