All this talk of backup finally got me off the dime. I just got a Toshiba USB portable hard drive. I've never done this kind of back up before. I got a 1 TB drive and hope to use it to back up both my laptop and my desktop. My desktop has a 1 TB drive in it now, but it's only 25% full and will never have much more than that. I just don't keep many photos, NO music or videos. My Laptop has a much smaller hard drive and it's less than half full.

My question to you who have gone before me with this type of backup system is: The instructions for this drive are super simple. Plug it in, install the software and download (or see the manual). Is this a "one time" only install for the software, or can I expect to easily install it on two computers? The brief Quick Start make no mention of a one time only, but I thought I'd ask here before I do anything. Thanks!
