In the 1970s oil was a few bucks a barrel. It is now $60. When the Saudis achieve whatever goals they have it will go up. When China and India climb out of their slump, it will go up even more.

And production in the US will start declining in a few years. We may or may not exceed the 1971 peak, depending on what the Saudis do.
