... Here’s another intelligence test for liberals: a study from the Solar Foundation that finds that there are now as many solar power jobs in the U.S. as there are coal jobs. Great news, right? Perhaps if you’re an economically illiterate liberal it is. Let’s see: coal produces 39 percent of America’s electricity, while solar power produces less than 1 percent at best. If solar really requires the same amount of workers to produce so little energy compared to coal, it’s obviously a really inefficient energy source. No wonder it costs so much more.

Even the Vox’s reliably green Brad Plumer isn’t fooled:

Another way to look at these numbers, however, is to point out that solar power is a pretty inefficient way of creating energy. As one 2012 University of Tennessee study found, it takes far more manpower to generate one megawatt-hour of electricity from solar than it does from any other energy source.
...........
How about if we put 100,000 people on treadmills hooked up to a generator? How many jobs would that “create”? 100,000! Well, sure, the government would have to make someone pay for them…

How greens should power their computers:

Rat?

They should install these at all Tesla recharging stations. And all parks in California should have them. BTW the above is MORE reliable than solar or wind. We can't make the sun shine and wind blow all the time when we need power. But we can have greens run on giant hamster wheels whenever they need energy.
