I sometimes get skipped heartbeats when sitting in a reclining armchair watching TV. It never happened before I had to go on hypertension drugs, 5 mg ramipril ACE inhibitor plus a diuretic. When the doc doubled my ramipril amount to 10 mg the skipped beats became more frequent, sometimes every 10 seconds for several hours, which was scary. Doc was unconcerned since the beat rate remained low or normal at the usual 60 or so, the rapid heart rate conditions are the dangerous ones.

I have gone back to the previous lower ramipril amount of 5 mg and the skipped beats have not happened for several months.
