[Korea. . .]

<<<.....what do you think about japan and korea--they get their shit together and the market surges. looks like a big part of the decline in u.s. was due to japan, ASEAN, and korea.>>>

I'm trying to understand the Asian situation and feel as though I've just scratched the surface. My own novice opinion is that the telecommunications revolution will be the WWII factor in keeping the economy strong. I said this to someone recently and they stared back rather perplexed so I had to explain how the war brought the US out of the depression and how, paradoxically, war often strengthens weak economies. Will this be the case in Asia? Well, they'll certainly have a rough time near-term, but if the rest of the world maintains strength through the build-out of telecommunications, it will boost the world economy. We're all connected and the question remains, will they pull us down or will we pull them up? I like to think it's "united we stand. . ."

I've put myself out on a limb and fully expect to be shot down. :)

Cheers!

Pat
