Why doesn't the bully heat move down into Antarctica and push the cold out? After all, you've said it can jump over Alaska and it's mountain ranges, a north-south distance of about 1400 miles. Meanwhile from the edge of the Ross ice shelf to the South Pole is only about 1000 miles.
