Clear enough, now (or, still) that "something's not right"...

That still doesn't answer any of the basic questions... the who, what, where, when, why... and how.

Teck doesn't list it as an asset, because it can't honestly be called one, given the standards they apply in their reporting... or only because it can't be called "attractive" in current form ?

Teck's view of relative value or potential in their assets, and their choices in presenting them to their shareholders, doesn't create any new material event that I can see... but, it does seem to require that some prior material event did occur at some point, that is at least partly responsible for the view they have and present... But, what event was that, exactly ?

It is clear enough that there was, somehow, a fumble involved in the handoff, leading to a change of possession, from Copper Fox to Teck... but the instant re-play is being blacked out so we can't see what really happened, or what calls were made... making it vastly harder to second guess either the officials calls, or the coaches decisions. It looks like things were settled between the players, in a negotiation conducted between the players on the field... but none of the details of which are being reported. We know Copper Fox had the ball... and now, after a long interruption during which the game coverage was blacked out... Teck has the game ball, but, play has ended, and Teck's ball boy has put the ball on the ball rack... while none of the Copper Fox fans have a clue about what happened. There's supposed to be a meeting next month at which they will discuss Teck paying to resume play.

We knew going in that there had been a fumble... we knew there was a scramble going on to try to recover, and that it looked like Copper Fox didn't have the capacity left in their tank to be able to recover the ball...

But, connecting the dots between what was happening then... and what the situation is now... isn't possible given the lack of information. Play has been suspended... and we have no way of knowing what the score was when play ended, or what value is still dependent on the outcome... if they decide to resume play at some future point. For now... the game itself has been put on care and maintenance... with any resumption of play dependent on Teck's future choices. The scoreboard has been unplugged.

Teck did put money into the deal done. That was agreed to have it where it is now... but, we don't what it was that they paid for... or what exactly it was that was being valued, or how it was valued, in the deal that was done.

In the result, Teck appears to now own or control the rights to the game film, in what had been a Copper Fox home game... or maybe not... but, again, we have no details about the nature of the agreements made between the two teams... that have fostered the cone of silence...

Obviously, they don't WANT you to know very much about what happened... for some reason. But, without knowing what has happened, or why, etc., there's no way to determine anything about the validity of the result... or what it means in relation to any future valuation. Other things that are clear... is that there was a massive disconnect that occurred between the value claimed, at first... and the value able to be claimed after a massive effort made in taking a second, closer, look. And, the clearly delineated basis on which the deals were originally negotiated and were expected to proceed... got set aside, somehow... and the deals done were done on some other basis instead... all of which we know nothing about.

Stuff happened... we don't know what... but we got from there to here, somehow... without knowing how. And, that means we really don't know where we are now. In the context of the analogy that's not hard to understand... that when you wake up on a gurney being hauled off the field, not really sure where you are... you do know something about what occurred to put you in that state. But, while you still don't know everything about what that means in relation to the outcome of the game... you're probably not far off in thinking it means you'll more likely get the consolation prize rather than the championship ring...

Was the value just not there... or did they badly screw up the effort made in looking ?

And, then, even the value claimed in that second look... seems it isn't validated by subsequent events...

So, either they claimed a large value that just doesn't exist... essentially having figured out how to do a Bre-X repeat within the rules, by grossly inflating the initial claims of value, without anyone caring...

Or, the value still exists and now they're claiming it doesn't... for some reason...
