At Cambridge House International’s 2015 Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, Resource Investing News had the chance to speak with Ross Beaty, chairman of Pan American Silver (TSX: PAA) and Alterra Power (TSX: AXY), about his views on the commodities market.

Beaty discussed a range of topics, including his views on silver, the reason behind his interest in Odin Mining (TSXV: ODN) in Ecuador and his outlook for various commodities in 2015. He also talked about renewable energy and some of the factors he sees driving the global commodities market.

Overall, Beaty is still “fairly bearish on most metals,” although he is “very bullish on gold.” However, that doesn’t mean 2015 will be a bad time for investors. “You want to be buying when no one else is buying,” he said, “… this is the kind of time to be buying metal stocks.”

Watch the video below for more of what he had to say.
