There was some selective moderation of the board today, just the highest problem cases. Here is the TOU for boards like politics:

As long as the topics are NOT investment-related, messages in these subjects will generally not be removed for any reason. If you are easily offended (and/or do not wish to be offended), please do not read or participate in these areas of the site.

So basically if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
