A cursory stroll through ANY and MOST major Western cities, reveals innumerable schools, universities, colleges, centres of research, planetariums, hospitals, and so on which all have Christian names. 90% of all such establishments started off because of Christian fascination with science. Pagan cultures were full of superstition and ignorance. The same phenomenon can be observed in Arabia under Islam. What have atheist cultures ever contributed to humanity apart from war and... suffering? There is no doubt that learning and the education of society owes a huge debt to the Christian ethos, and those who deny it are being disingenuous, at best.

Even basic things we take for granted today have Judeo/Christian roots: our concept of equal worth between men and women come from the story of Creation (where God created male and female in his own image) - in non-Christian-based societies the women have REMAINED inferior citizen to men. The emancipation of slavery has the same inspiration. Our laws against theft, murder, and slander are based on the Ten Commandments (7th and 10th, 5th, and 8th) - just to name a few examples. Even our week is based on the seven days of Creation and the main reason why we all have a legal break from work on Sunday (because God also rested on the seventh day). In earlier pagan cultures, workers never had a day-of-rest.

I could go on and on with hundreds of such examples, but this is just a quick post and not a book. Get real and accept the facts, even if you don't like them
