Gas is a major player in wind energy.

I burn oil as I have little choice, my house was originally all electric ..... What you really mean is heating oil makes most sense for you. But you do have choice. Some folks on SI will tell you you should just install solar panels ..... that and a wood stove and some deadfall limbs is all you need.
