Joe, no doubt that I will get flamed for this one, but the fact of the matter is that IBM is the undisputed technology leader in the world.

When it comes to true enterprise technology, no one comes close to offering the scalability that IBM does. It should be no surprise that IBM developed and owns OLE.

IBM is the greatest and I, for one, am proud to be True Blue.

Microsoft exists only because IBM, like a playful cat, enjoys having a mouse like Microsoft to toy with. But when push comes to shove and IBM wants to remind the world who is the king of the hill, it will. No doubt!

IBM could easily pick up all of Microsoft's key competitors with its cash on hand and launch an aggressive siege. But the cat is having a little fun. Too many people underestimate IBM. It's just my perspective.

How will this affect Novell? Who knows, but Big Blue could crush Microsoft's network expansion plans with a swift purchase of Novell and an easy integration of OS/2 and Netware. This would beat NT by the power of 2.

IBM is still king. Least anyone forget.

A. Viazzo.
