My Landlady, a 72 year old, just went though the surgical removal of some large kidney stones. Even though she did the drug bit with the Surgeon, he did the same thing with her that happened to me 30 years ago after a bowel resection. Too little painkiller the first two days. Some Doctors just won''t pay attention when you warn them that it will take more than the usual amount of drugs to reduce your pain after surgery. I have always been this way, and she has been on heavy painkillers for years due to other abdominal problems.

He wouldn't up the normal dosage for her and it really caused a lot of unneeded pain. It is well known that heavy pain killer usage in the first couple of days after surgery will not addict you, but a lot of Doctors just won't go along with prescribing more than normal.

All you can do is damn them for their stupidity.
