Hopefully this approach can grow legs and carry the word to all on our continent. We all have never been a party to illegal Cartels (OPEC) that prop up prices beyond what a true market place price should be. We have for generations paid trillions to those who practice Cartel pricing. I say we North Americans must collectively support our own oil and gas Exploration, production, employment, and innovative resource harvesting of energy. All imported oil (NON NORTH AMERICAN OIL) must have a tariff imposed on it. This tariff must be on a sliding scale such that the cheaper brent is offered the higher the tarriff. This will make WTI higher in price to brent and allow the continuation of further resource development. If and when Brent exceeds WTI -then we have a free market price over a long term time horizon (the tariff is zero). The development of our own energy industry has been held hostage to a false cartel pricing mechanism too long. If it takes technology and North American energy to dismember the false pricing of the OPEC Cartel - now is the time to implement the tariff. This must become a grass roots event as it will find bought and paid for politicians at many places. Let's support our own people, resources and technology - a technology that must also be eco friendly !!
