BUT Germany was doing what was in Germany's best interest. Of course! Greece was forced to borrow under terms likely favorable to Germany. BUt that is exactly my point; if you mismanage your economy to the point you are forced to borrow more and more and under worsening terms. Whose fault is that? Why would Germany loan money at 1% interest when the chances of them getting their money back are not the greatest?
