Al, all you did was mention how the uninsured take advantage of public services like "free ER care." But in states where state-sponsored health care was set up, ER visits increased, not decreased. Who's paying for the increase in ER visits? The newly insured? Not entirely, since most of them are relying on government subsidies. (Otherwise they would have not signed up for insurance in the first place.) The answer is that we all pay for it. Whether insured or uninsured, the notion of "ER care" being a negative consequence of not having universal health care is a myth. Tenchusatsu
