What sort of respect for the elderly do you expect in a nation where the Republican Party and Tea Party members have been pressing to end the "welfare entitlement benefits" of Social Security and Medicare received by older Americans, the disabled and the mentally ill.

Or publicly calling elderly Americans, the mentally ill and the disabled "the takers" and "the 47%".

Talk about a disgusting repudiation of civil society and our democratic heritage. Not being respectful of Henry Kissinger hardly compares with publicly denigrating all elderly Americans and disabled physically or mentally and potentially kicking them into the street.

Putin has cut the monthly benefits of Russia's elderly to a mere $65 a month, resulting in a soaring suicide rate among the elderly. Republicans find this the ideal blueprint for America to follow.

I have little doubt most of the people advocating these positions would gleefully murder their own parents for financial gain if they could do it legally. They're just being "practical".
