per family values i try to do all the right things
enable easy access to the grand kids by the grandparents, so all live in the same walking neighborhood
facilitate inter-generational understanding, therefore at least two gatherings per week to share meals
encourage across-age exchange of learning, so group holidays twice per annum
enhance learning by the kids and underpin teaching by the grandparents, by such that weekly readings by the grandparents and story listening by the grandkids
besides, by such the seniors gets sick less, and the juniors learn more value-packed lessons at cheaper cost
as good as it gets :0)
and gets me out from under baby sitting chores, and focus on the easy bits, that be everything is awesome legos legos and more legos
we had ended jack's access to ipad whenever not on vacation / holiday, and he simply reverted by asking for minecraft books, to see what is possible, and once per week asks and we do accordingly per his wish, "dada, can we talk about what we can build in minecraft when we next holiday?"
i gave jack the latest lego (minecraft edition) series, and upon opening the box i flipped open the instruction book but jack said, "dada, can we just not follow the rules?" (sure, why not, as in the computer version of minecraft there are no rules)
erita, however, is starting to explore architecture, and jack is delving into new dimension
