on wednesday night, Jack played hard, banged head against stone window sill, seriously hard.
blood had spurted as opposed to gushed out and all over face and clothing and bedding. bleeding stopped by use of towel. parents were definitely terrified as we could not see extent of wound until after we got to the hospital. then he fell blissfully asleep.
plastic surgeon lived next door to the hospital, and so presumably did timely save by the needed skills. In any case the mark of distinction is perfectly placed, off center. counting blessings.
head injury with a deep wound (12 stitches in inner and outer layers). local anesthetic for jack simply slept even when the first needling, and did not stir during 5 more needlings, and was not force-held during stitching. once done, the surgeon merely pulled on his ear to wake him up just to make sure he is sound, and he was, and went right back to sleep :0)
jack slept through the stitching due to tiredness, even as his first words upon entering hospital were, "Dada, no needles".
am unsure he learned anything useful from the experience except that playing hard allows skipping school and side-stepping school interviews for awhile - jack not able to attend school or do physical activities for next two weeks.
it is a blessing to play until one drops, sleep through a prospective existential crisis, and wake up smiling and w/ no-school card in hand. life must be wonderful.
cannot say he was traumatised or not, watch & brief
