Stan, While 145 is a bit above the norm on the BNP, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My first BNP test result was 760 and I'm still alive and kickin', LOL. Three months later (using meds) it was down to 100, and three years later (after many lifestyle, dietary and weight changes but no more meds) I hit my lowest score at <30! My layman's understanding of this test is that when under stress your heart produces enzymes that this test then measures, so the higher the score, the greater the stress your heart is experiencing. I get this test run with my other blood tests every six months as I consider it a useful measurement of my overall heart health.
