Boy, there's some amusing stuff out today..

From USA Today:

'And other states have diverted taxes, such as Nebraska, where 2 cents from every pack of cigarettes goes toward Year 2000 work.'

And from pi's news release:

'Regarding the announcement, Mr. Kaplan commented, ''Only pi Technologies is in the process of training, tooling, and deploying a virtual army of Y2K technicians to address the upcoming issues as a result of the global software crisis. Our new division will provide jobs for thousands and thousands of teens, adults, and seniors
with basic PC skills who are desperately needed to fix the Y2K problem.'

How soon can we expect the info-mercials? If this product is as good as their web site (from an Internet company no less), I think we might be in for a real good laugh.

I've been thinking. Maybe we're investing in the wrong areas. Perhaps we should invest in DASD makers and tape manufacturers, as I would guess that circa December 1999, there are going to be an enormous amount of backups being made, probably of every production system and it's data on the planet.
