The key to Obama under-reporting unemployment which allowed him to claim that the unemployment was under 8% by November 2012 was removing people from the statistic far more quickly than previously.

There is a saying, there are three types of lies, "Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics." In the case of the statistics being fudged by the Obama DOL, they are purely fraudulent. If they wish to change the methodology, then in order for the numbers to have any meaning they would have to restate historical numbers using their new methodology. This was not done. It was done to create false news reports making it appear that the Obama recession / depression was far less sever than it actually has been.

So far you have failed to address the core reason that I believe shadowstats unemployment figures to be far more accurate than those being reported on in the low information media. They have attempted to correct for the distortions caused by the change in methodology, but also include people who should be in the workforce.

Ask yourself one core question. If all government handouts to individuals were ended tomorrow, how many people would be looking for work? You may discover that one minus the labor participation rate would be a great analog for the resulting unemployment rate.
