(oh let me count the ways...) take it nice and slow and small. REALLY, I could have learned just as much AND PROBABLY MORE if I lost a hundred dollars on a position rather than a thousand...

And don't forget John Murphy's book, The Visual Investor.

To me, once you get the hang of psyching out market moves (or even if you don't) the two key words for me are "discipline" and "money management."

Discipline to stick with what works and money management so you don't do something stupid like putting all your money in one basket.

(Even if that basket is a mutual fund).
