You have to be really careful with your sources (kff is consistently left-leaning).

That being said, from your charts 18% of uninsured put off health care because of cost. That, to me, is an astonishingly low figure.

These are people, practically all of whom were uninsured BY CHOICE, saying, "Yeah, I choose not to spend my money on medical bills. I need cigarettes and beer every week; if I had a hundred bucks leftover I might go see the doctor."

Certainly, no one in his right mind would argue that for the benefit of that small number of people we should have wrecked the best health care system in the entire world. That would make no sense at all.
