Inode,
Studies showed screening women in their 40s rarely saved lives, and resulted in many false positives.
That's amazing. Tell that to my two classmates who got breast cancer BEFORE they reached the age of 40.

OF COURSE mammograms will result in many false positives. A mammogram is the first line of defense against breast cancer. It was never meant to be a 100% accurate detection mechanism. The idea is to follow up on the results and make sure what the mammograms detected are not worrisome.

I hear it all the time. Early detection, early detection, early detection. That's the key to fighting cancer, at least until we find a cure.
