<<Didn't get a chance to see the CNBC spot. How did it go?>>

Rick, Ed McCracken looked and sounded like the true -class act- he is. He clarified the Microsoft collaboration as having tremendous upside potential for both SGI's upcoming NT product, as well as their MIPS-based UNIX systems. Which he noted, will remain-on as SGI's core technology offering for the extended future.

When asked, Ed gave no indication whatsoever about projected Q2 sales and/or earnings, or the status of SGI's CEO search. Both topics handled rather delicately (and respectfully) by the CNBC crew given Ed's status with SGI, and the fact that just a few months ago he was on the same program with a cheerier message.

I've seen this same CNBC crew rip guys in Ed's shoes, but there was none of that here. <imho> Another validation of the tremendous respect Ed McCracken has earned in the overall marketplace. It's a shame he's leaving SGI.
